What is Geoprobing?

A Geoprobe is a hydraulically-powered, direct push machine that uses static force as well as dynamic percussion force to drive steel boring rods into the sub-surface at a variety of depths in order to assist in sub-surface sampling.

This is a quick, clean and economical upgrade from the equipment we used to use for environmental drilling. A Geoprobe is able to reach depths that the conventional drilling equipment could not reach.

Drilling rigs we use for geoprobing

Stevens Drilling & Environmental Services Inc. uses a drilling rig with a Geoprobe trailer that can get into smaller areas, is more mobile and is more flexible. We have a rubber-tracked 6600 and a Bobcat mounted 5400. We just added a 2015 7822DT to our drilling equipment as well.

The 5400 model has a 3-wheel cart for push probing in buildings with narrow pathways to move through. This unit has its own auxiliary hydraulic power pack to run the probe. We can also pothole with a 500 gallon capacity hydro-vacuum.
